Observatorio (OBS*) e-journal is a quarterly academic publication in the field of Communication Studies, which accepts and publishes texts written in Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Italian, French and English. Its formula of Open Access allows authors to have the maximum of public exposition of their work, thus we encourage readers and authors to register and submit their work for upcoming issues.

Since its first issue, (OBS*) published the work of 389 authors and co-authors from 32 countries. The first twelve issues were read in 159 countries of which the Top 10 downloading countries are: Spain, United States, Portugal, Brazil, France, Italy, Great Britain, South Korea, Australia and Canada.

“Having now published its fifteenth open access issue and a total of 240 papers, (OBS*) achieved more than 300000 downloads up to the month of January 2011. (OBS*) is already one of the most successful journals in terms of audience within the broad field of Communication research”.

Neste repositório podem ser encontrados os primeiros números da revista Observatório publicados apenas em papel durante os anos de 1999 a 2006. Posteriormente a 2007 todos os números da OBS* encontram-se disponíveis em http://obs.obercom.pt . A OBS* é uma revista internacional editada a partir de Portugal e indexada na Sciverse Scopus, estando igualmente disponível no LatinIndex, Scielo e EBSCO (abstracts).
